Pregnant Elriel on Solstice featuring their adopted son, Kaden. ❄🎄✨

This idea came to life based off my Oh Baby AU. While this is a different version of the AU, we couldn’t help but think of the possibilities of Elain and Azriel building a family together, whether that is through conception, adoption, or anything in between.

We are so excited to bring this idea to life, and there wasn’t anybody else who could’ve made this artwork as gorgeous as it is than luxury_banshee. She was incredible to work with and her style never disappoints. The moment she showed us the first glimpse, we all fell in love. Thank you, lovely, for this stunning piece. It’s better than imagined! 💕❄️🎄

Hope is a fickle, dangerous thing. It steals your focus and aims it toward the possibilities instead of keeping it where it belongs - on the probabilities. || Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

MODERN KAZ BREKKER HEAD CANNON:

-He and Jesper have actually been friends since grade school, they were in the same class and Kaz would steal Jesper’s pencils/paper because his foster home didn’t have any to give him.

-When Jesper found out why Kaz didn’t have supplies, he just showed up one day and handed Kaz a backpack full of them. He never said a word and Kaz never actually said thank you, but they are at the same lunch table every day after. The rest was history.

-Colm Fahey taught Kaz how to drive when he turned sixteen, right along Jesper. It was never actually framed that way, but Colm just started looking at Kaz when he instructed Jesper as he picked them both up from school. One day, Colm just tossed Kaz the keys and said “drive us to get your licenses, I signed you both up for the exam”.

-The one and only time Jesper ever saw his Da cry in public was at their high school graduation. It was when Kaz gave Colm a simple black note card in an envelope. Jesper saw what it said. “Thank you for letting me sleep on your couch and eat your food and drive your car. Your trust is something I hope to always earn, you taught me to honor my word, Mr. Fahey.”

-Every year for Thanksgiving, it was the three of them. Until Wylan. Then Nina and Matthias. Then, one year, Kaz brought home a girl. A girl they’d all been friends with for many years, but had always gone home to see her family for holidays. Her name was Inej Ghafa, and Jesper knew when Kaz introduced him to Colm as his girl, no more or less, it was official. Jesper had a sister now, too.

The “metaphor” behind the Elriel aesthetic.

Well, let’s get started. We know that elriel is canonically described as “lovely fawn and death” and as “light and dark”.

image

The first thing I would like to point out is: the symbology behind the fawn in this specific case.

Fawn is a symbol of purity, freedom, fecundity and, the main point here, of LIFE.

So, twice in that quote, Elain and Azriel were presented as opposites.

Life, death. Light, dark.

They are always opposites, but opposites that always go hand in hand. No matter how hard we try to run away, light and dark go hand in hand. Life and death go hand in hand.

This is also known as complementary opposites.

Death only exists because there is life

Darkness only exists because once there was light.

In the same way that light only exists because there is darkness.

And life is only lived as we live because we are sure of death.

They coexist, complement each other and, no matter how much they try to escape, one cannot exist without the other.

Sometimes I think about this and how these opposites were placed not just once, but twice when talking about elriel and what they represent.

They are just that, opposites that complement each other perfectly.

Do they have their similarities? Of course, and there are many. But in a matter of how they are presented and how people view them, especially the feyre, they are opposites that complement each other and simply need to live side by side.

Remembering that this doesn’t just happen with elriel, ok? But let’s focus 100% on them today.

Anyway, that’s it. I feel that sometimes we missing this little detail there, but it’s a thing that always makes me think a lot. Hope you think about it too❤️
